Nothing had prepared us for the hill country of Texas. This vast land, filled with stories, scars,  and wildflowers, is where our journey for a home began. The first time we saw it— It spoke to us, “Freedom is untamed land.” It was as if the land itself had chosen us, beckoning us to its uncultivated beauty and harsh realities.

For a time spanning from 2019 to 2021, our family sought to understand the true meaning of home. In a world where people often seek fulfillment in the superficial, we ventured into the heart of Texas to discover something far more profound.

We came to understand that the essence of home transcends the physical boundaries of bricks and mortar. It's an enduring sanctuary for the spirit, a place where the heart finds solace and the soul dances freely. This quest led us to peel back the layers of what society told us should define our dwelling, pushing us to seek deeper, more meaningful connections. As the world around us seemed to prioritize temporary fulfillments and superficial engagements, our family's journey became a counter-narrative, a search for authenticity in our bonds and environment.

The American home, once a beacon of steadfastness and deep-seated values, appeared to us as having drifted into a sea of transience, losing its anchor in the rush of modern life. This shift sparked a yearning within us for a refuge not just from the physical elements, but from the ephemeral nature of contemporary existence. Our move to Texas was fueled by this longing—a longing for a place that could embody the ideals of permanence, warmth, and belonging. It was a quest not merely for a change in scenery but for a transformation in how we perceive and inhabit our spaces.

This introspection and outward journey illuminated our understanding of home as not merely a site, but as an experience—a confluence of relationships, memories, and dreams. It became clear that to truly find our home, we must venture inward, exploring the landscapes of our hearts just as intrepidly as we navigated the rugged terrains of Texas.
